Los Glaciares National Park is the largest of Argentina’s national parks.
Located in the southwest of the province of Santa Cruz, Glaciers National Park (Parque Nacional Los Glaciares) is exceptionally beautiful. The icy giants that inhabit it seem almost surreal, too unlike anything you’ll see anywhere else on the globe. The park that was created to protect them has an area of 726,927 hectares and is the largest in the Argentine national system of protected areas.
Naturally, the three main glaciers – the Perito Moreno, the Upsala and the Spegazzini – are the stars of the show. But there’s a lot more you can do in Los Glaciares National Park than merely contemplate the glaciers in all of their natural splendor.

Go Trout Fishing
Expert anglers have lots of great fly fishing options in and around the national park, mostly in the Lago del Desierto and the Rio de las Vueltas, where there’s plenty of Patagonian trout.
Go Camping
People are not surprised to find out that one of the most popular things to do in Los Glaciares National Park is go camping. There are several camp sites and grounds where you can pitch your tent inside the national park. Camping Lago Roca is the biggest and offers the most services including hot water and showers, as well as a restaurant. For those who don’t mind roughing it, El Huala offers nothing but clean air and unspoiled natural beauty.
